Owner of Dive Bequia, Bob Sachs, originally hails from New Jersey where he ran Lakeland Divers for 3 years. Following that warmer water beckoned and Bob left for Papua New Guinea where he stayed for 4 years. He started Dive Bequia in 1984, and is Bequia's most knowledgeable dive operator. Bob is still active in the dive shop, mainly taking beginners on their first dive, keeping the web pages up to date, and socializing. (One thing to be prepared for when you come to Dive Bequia, is a good time). Wherever you go in the islands, you'll hear divers mention Bob Sachs, and recommend that you check out Dive Bequia.

| Cathy came to Bequia in 1995, took a beginners dive course with Dive Bequia and quickly went on to become a PADI Instructor, (not too surprising, seeing as she fell in love with Bob, and ended up as 'Mrs. Dive Bequia'). Cathy can answer questions on routes to get to Bequia, and routes you can take in your diving career. She will also call around to find accommodation to suit your needs and fancies. Direct general enquiries her way and she will help you have a great vacation in Bequia. |
DiDi, as she is affectionately known, began working with Dive Bequia in 1990, and is the most experienced and dedicated PADI Divemaster in Bequia. DiDi has amassed thousands of dives and has an incredible knack for finding interesting creatures that most of us just fin over. She regularly finds more than one seahorse on her dives, which is probably why many of her divers have taken to calling her the 'Seahorse Queen'. One of the mainstays of Dive Bequia, you'll love your dives with DiDi, and après-dive, she'll fill you in on island life.

Charlie, a Blue Fronted Amazon and the shop mascot, came to Dive Bequia in December 2004. He has quite the vocabulary and will always welcome you with "Good Morning" no matter what time of day it is. He is 7 years old, should live to be 80...... | |
